Affilimate vs Lasso — analytics layer vs display layer
Both call themselves 'affiliate tools'. They solve opposite ends.
Affilimate
Pros:
— Aggregates commissions across networks, ties revenue to the exact PAGE/link
— Revenue heatmaps + link-level attribution you can't get from networks alone
Cons:
— Doesn't render boxes or manage links; it's pure analytics
— Setup means wiring API keys for every network
Lasso
Pros:
— Builds the on-page boxes/tables and monitors link health
— Geo-localization + Amazon sync
Cons:
— Attribution is shallow; it won't tell you which page earned what across networks
— Per-site subscription
For: Affilimate if you have traffic + revenue and don't know which content earns it. Lasso if you need the pretty on-page presentation and link upkeep.
Gotcha nobody mentions: Affilimate's page-level revenue attribution needs sub-ID/SubID passing per network; if a network doesn't support it, that revenue stays unattributed and your heatmap lies by omission.
Bottom line: They're complements, not rivals. Lasso shows the offer, Affilimate tells you if it paid. Mature sites run both.
