Myth: Native "audience targeting" gets you a defined audience.
Wrong. On most content-recommendation platforms there is no real user graph — they have a cookie, a page topic, and a click history on chumbox bait. "Targeting" is contextual guesswork dressed as audience science.
The lookalikes you upload get matched against an interest model built from people who click "15 celebrities who aged badly." That's the behavioral signal feeding your "high-intent" segment.
Don't import your social-platform mental model here. Native targeting is page-context plus a thin click-propensity score. Treat geo, device, and placement as your real levers — the audience layer is mostly a confidence trick on the buy sheet.
