The boring truth: carousels are where attention goes to die. Notre Dame's tracking found the first slide gets nearly all the clicks and the rest get almost none — and auto-rotation triggers banner blindness because moving things read as ads. You're not showing five offers. You're showing one, badly, then hiding it before anyone acts.
More slides means more compromise, less conversion.
What the advice skipped: pick the one offer that matters to your primary traffic and commit the hero to it. A carousel isn't a strategy — it's an unresolved argument.
