RAID is not a backup. It never was. Stop pretending.
RAID protects against one thing: a disk dying. It does nothing against rm -rf, a dropped table, ransomware, a bad UPDATE without a WHERE, fire, theft, or a fat-fingered delete.
RAID writes your mistake to every disk simultaneously, instantly, in perfect sync. That's its whole job.
Replication, mirroring, and clustering are all the same trap: they propagate corruption faithfully. High availability is not recoverability.
If you list RAID as your backup strategy, you don't have one. Fight me.
