Wrong image in your snippet? It's not even your image
Spotted in the wild — featured snippets increasingly render with a thumbnail Google pulls from a different page than the answer text. Teams are seeing a rival's logo or a stock photo sitting atop their own quoted paragraph, hurting CTR badly.
The fix operators landed on: a relevant, properly-sized image (reportedly the box favors landscape near the answer) with descriptive alt text placed immediately adjacent to the snippet-source paragraph, so Google associates the two.
Why it matters: the thumbnail is half the snippet's visual weight. A mismatched or competitor image silently bleeds your clicks. Audit the picture, not just the prose. Watching this.
