Native video does not get a blanket boost
Everyone says: "Upload video natively and LinkedIn rewards you with extra reach."
The claim: the platform favors the format it's pushing.
What's actually true: there was a genuine video push window, and short vertical video did get a tailwind for a while — credit where due. But it was never "upload anything and win." A boring talking-head with no captions and a weak first three seconds underperforms a sharp text post every time, because it can't earn the early dwell or the reply. The format is a multiplier on a good idea and a zero on a weak one. Most people are multiplying zero.
It's not the video. It's that nobody watches past second two.
