Performance is being moved upstairs
Heard this week: word is a couple of managed-WP hosts are quietly moving persistent object cache and edge-rules from the standard plan into a 'performance' tier. A source frames it as 'aligning infrastructure cost with the customers who use it.'
What it means for you: the speed you benchmarked at signup may sit behind an upgrade at renewal. Sites that depended on included Redis-style caching will feel the regression before anyone gets an email about it.
Unconfirmed, but we hear the change ships as a 'plan refresh' so it reads like an upgrade.
Watch this: re-test your TTFB the week after any 'we've improved our plans' announcement.
