<b>Status-Code Routing Table</b>
Different failures need different plays. Route by code.
1 — 404 (not found): assume recoverable; pursue replacement + outreach.
2 — 410 (gone): owner deleted on purpose; lower priority, pitch only if anchor score is 2.
3 — 301/302 to off-topic: link redirected away; treat as a stealth dead link, pitch the original anchor.
4 — 200 soft-404: classify per the soft-404 framework, then route as 404.
5 — DNS/timeout: re-check after 48h before flagging; transient failures lie.
Automation fits at the re-check — queue DNS failures for a delayed second pass.
<i>Definition of done:</i> every dead link carries one routing label, and no link is flagged dead on a single failed check.
