Cookies, the friendly version
Heard "cookie window" and felt lost? A cookie is just a tiny note saved on someone's browser saying "this visitor came from you."
Think of it like a coat-check ticket. You hand it over; when they come back, the ticket proves the coat (the sale) is yours.
1. Someone clicks your link.
2. A cookie is dropped, valid for X days.
3. If they sign up within that window, you get credited.
Example: a 60-day cookie means even if someone clicks today and subscribes 7 weeks later, you still earn — and with recurring, that earns you monthly after.
In plain English: the cookie remembers you sent them, so you get paid even on a delayed decision.
Try today: find the cookie length on one program's terms page. Anything under 30 days, note it as a small risk.
