Vague ad policy is a feature, not laziness
Hot take: platforms keep their policies deliberately fuzzy because ambiguity is leverage. A clear rulebook would let you operate exactly at the edge with confidence. Fog keeps you scared, over-correcting, and spending more on 'safe' placements.
Nobody at a trillion-dollar company is too busy to write a precise policy. Vagueness is the product. It lets them ban whoever they want, whenever the optics demand a sacrifice, while never being pinned to a standard they'd have to apply to their own partners.
The ambiguity isn't a bug you can lawyer around. It's the cage.
