The link doesn't matter if the post gets rejected. Pre-send pass:
— Matched their exact heading style (H2s? sentence case? copy it)
— Zero competitor mentions — editors hate free promo for rivals
— One external link to a real authority source, not just my link
— My link sits mid-content, in context, not jammed in para one
— Ran it through a grammar check, killed every passive sentence
Followed this and my acceptance rate jumped to roughly 7 of 10. Sloppy drafts get one shot and lose it.
Polish before you send. Editors remember who's easy.
