Playbook: Internal-link your review pages to funnel authority to money posts
Review sites leak link equity into low-value pages. Here's the audit-and-fix to push it toward the comparison posts that earn.
— Crawl the site and pull internal link counts per URL (Screaming Frog > Inlinks). Find your money pages and count their internal links.
— Your top "best X" pages should have the MOST internal links, not your privacy policy. If it's backwards, that's the whole problem.
— Add contextual links from your high-traffic informational posts ("how to choose X") down into the matching review roundup. Sidebar links count far less.
— Use descriptive anchors ("best budget X for beginners"), not "click here" — anchor text is a ranking signal you control fully.
— Cap outbound internal links per post; a page dumping 40 internal links dilutes the equity it passes.
Gotcha: linking every product mention to its individual review AND the roundup splits equity. Pick one primary internal target per product and be consistent.
Bottom line: count inlinks per URL, make money pages the most-linked, push from informational posts with real anchors. If your privacy page outranks your reviews internally, fix that first.
