<b>Position 1 isn't the top of the page anymore</b>
Today's lesson: the <b>fold</b> — the part of the screen you see before scrolling — used to belong to the top organic result. Not now. Ads, a snippet, People Also Ask, and a map can fill it all.
Think of it like a theater. You booked "front row" months ago, but now there's an orchestra pit, a band, and a sign-language interpreter between you and the audience.
What to actually check:
1. Search your keyword on a phone, not just a laptop. Count how far you scroll to reach result one.
2. If 3+ features sit above it, ranking first won't bring the clicks you expect.
3. Aim to BE one of those features (snippet, image pack, video) instead of just outranking text.
Try this: search your main keyword on your phone. Count the scrolls to the first blue link. 🎓
