Programmatic pages get deindexed for one of three reasons. Knowing which one applies saves weeks of debugging.
1. Duplicate content — your templates aren't varying enough between pages. Google sees 500 near-identical pages and treats them as spam.
2. Thin content — each page exists but provides no genuine value. The data is there, but there's nothing for a user to actually do with it.
3. Crawl budget waste — you're generating pages faster than Google can process them. Thousands of low-value URLs drain crawl budget from your important pages.
Diagnose via Google Search Console coverage report + Screaming Frog crawl. If indexation rate is below 40% on a programmatic build, one of these three is the culprit.
Fix the root cause, don't just request reindexation.
