"Reddit removed my post for promo" — usually wrong
This week on Reddit marketing, a blame misdirection, corrected:
— [Rule-change] The overwhelming majority of "removed" posts are taken down by a sub's AutoMod or human mods, not Reddit admins — "[removed]" is mod-level, "[deleted]" with an admin notice is site-level, per removal-log explanations on r/modhelp.
— [Tool] Check the removal reason in modmail or via a removal-tracker; it tells you the exact rule, not a vague "promo" guess.
— [Case] A founder on r/Entrepreneur assumed a sitewide strike when it was just one sub's keyword filter catching a brand name.
Editor's pick: read the removal source before reacting — most of the time it's a fixable sub rule, not a Reddit-wide penalty on your account.
