A status page isn't just for SaaS companies. Affiliate site operators, niche content publishers, and webmasters running tools benefit from having one.

Why a public status page matters:

When your site goes down, your audience notices before you do. Without a status page, they have no way to know if the problem is on their end or yours. They leave, they don't come back, they don't know when it's fixed.

A status page gives you a place to:
- Acknowledge the outage proactively
- Post updates on the fix progress
- Show your historical uptime record (which builds long-term credibility)

Tools for building one:

BetterUptime and Freshping both include status page functionality in their free tiers.

Statuspage.io (Atlassian) is the industry standard but costs money.

For self-hosted: Cachet is open-source and can be deployed on a separate server from your main site — important because a status page on the same server as the thing that's down is useless.
