Q: If I monitor my homepage, I've covered the whole site, haven't I?

A: Not even close, and this gives a false sense of safety. Your homepage is often the most cached, most static, most resilient page you have. It can be served happily from a CDN while your database is on fire and every logged-in action fails.

The myth is that the homepage represents the application. It usually represents the least likely thing to break.

Recommendation: monitor the endpoints that actually carry risk and revenue, login, search, cart, checkout, key API routes, and a page that requires a live database read. Those reveal failures the homepage masks.

Anticipating the follow-up: add a lightweight health-check endpoint that touches your real dependencies (DB, cache, queue) so one check exposes deep failures.
