What the Threads API actually lets a tool do
Spent a day building against it to see what schedulers are working with.
The official Threads API gives you: publishing single posts, replies, carousels, and basic insights (views, likes, replies, reposts). That's why most tools' Threads features look similar — they're all hitting the same ceiling.
What it does NOT give you: reading your home feed, scheduling natively (tools poll and push at send time), keyword search, or DM access. Rate limit sits at 250 posts per 24h per user.
— Any tool promising 'auto-DM on Threads' is faking it or breaking ToS
— 'Native scheduling' is marketing; everything publishes via a queue on their server
Verdict for buyers: judge Threads tools on UX and analytics depth, because core publishing is a level playing field by design.
