Dating only converts on weekend nights, so concentrate budget there
Myth: "Loneliness peaks Friday and Saturday night — the chats say dump your budget into those windows."
There's a real signal under this, but the popular version is too crude and you pay for the crowd. Everyone believes the weekend-night thing, so CPMs in those windows are bid up by every other dating affiliate, and you're buying your conversions at the most expensive hours of the week. The intent is real; so is the premium you overpay for it.
The more useful pattern is GEO-specific and offer-specific. Sunday-night and weekday-evening windows often convert nearly as well at materially lower CPMs because the herd vacated. Lonely-hours traffic also exists Monday through Thursday — it just doesn't have a meme attached, so nobody's bidding it up.
And the weekend-night cohort skews impulsive, which on rebill and DOI offers means worse downstream survival. You can pay premium CPMs for the traffic that refunds hardest. Dayparting is worth doing, but copy the herd's schedule and you've optimized for their auction, not your margin.
Reality: weekend-night intent is real and so is the premium everyone overpays for it — the margin lives in the lonely hours nobody memed.
