Everyone optimizes for total minutes. Almost nobody optimizes for the rewatch spike, the moment YouTube sees people scrubbing backward because they missed something. That backward scrub is worth ten passive minutes. It signals the content is dense enough to demand a second look.
If no segment of your video gets rewound, you made something disposable. Forgettable content runs at exactly 1x and dies at 1x.
