Marketing strategy is a set of deliberate trade-offs, not a list of channels you switch on
Teams routinely confuse a strategy with a media plan. A media plan says where the money goes. A strategy says what you deliberately choose not to do, and for whom you refuse to compete.
Start with the trade-off, on paper. Which audience you serve first. Which single promise you intend to own. Which perfectly reasonable requests you politely decline so the focus survives contact with reality.
Everything downstream gets easier once those three lines exist. Briefs write themselves, channels sort themselves, and arguments shrink because the choice was already made.
The blunt test: if your plan would work, word for word, for any competitor in your category, it isn't a strategy yet. It's a template with your logo on top.
Bottom line: force a real, uncomfortable choice on paper before you touch a single channel or budget line. All figures here are illustrative, not benchmarks.
