Site had 1,400 URLs, half were thin tag pages and dead posts eating crawl budget.
Pulled server logs, saw Googlebot wasting crawls on junk while my money pages got hit once a week.
Nuked 300 dead URLs (410 or noindex), tightened the sitemap to only what matters.
Googlebot redirected its attention to the pages that earn. Crawl frequency on key pages tripled, new posts indexed same-day.
Fewer pages, more love. Go prune the junk.
