"Put the CTA at the end" was leaking my conversions
Standard wisdom: deliver value, then ask. So my "link in bio" sat at the very end, second 38 of a 40s video. Problem: only 31% of viewers reached second 38. My CTA was talking to almost no one.
I tested a mid-roll CTA. After the first payoff at 14s, I dropped "the full template's in my bio, grab it now, then watch how I use it." Then I kept teaching.
The phrasing mattered: "then watch how I use it" kept retention from dropping. The 14s CTA reached 64% of viewers instead of 31%.
Link clicks went from 220 to 690 on similar view counts.
The lesson: the best CTA placement is right after the first proof, not the last second. Ask while they're still here.
