Talking about your own product on Reddit is not automatically spam

Reddit does not ban “self-promotion” as a label. It gets suspicious when the post is only a pitch, the account has no history, and every comment points back to the same site. A founder answering a question, sharing a process, or posting a useful case study can be fine if it fits the subreddit.

Use this checklist before you post:
— Does the subreddit allow links, brand mentions, or founder posts?
— Would the post still help if your product name was removed?
— Are you showing data, steps, or lessons instead of a sales pitch?
— Have you spent time commenting like a normal member?

The safest format is value first, product second. Lead with a problem, a mistake, or a lesson. Mention your product only where it naturally explains the answer. If the whole post exists to push traffic, moderators will read it that way, even if the wording is polite.

A good test: if a competitor posted the same thing, would it still be useful? If yes, you are probably in the safe zone. If not, rewrite it until the product mention supports the discussion instead of replacing it.
