Myth: low-traffic sites can't run A/B tests
'You need millions of visitors, don't bother.' Heard it from a CRO 'expert.' It's lazy.
Low traffic doesn't mean no testing. It means test BIGGER swings and BIGGER metrics.
On a 4k-visits-a-month page I stopped testing button copy (need a huge sample for a 3% lift) and tested the entire offer — free trial vs money-back guarantee. Big behavior change = big effect size = resolves in weeks, not years.
Small sites can't detect small lifts. So don't chase small lifts. Swing for 20%+ effects on revenue-level metrics.
Got a low-traffic page? Stop micro-testing. Test two genuinely different offers head to head. Report back.
