<b>Adding the code doesn't promise the stars show</b>
Today's lesson: even with perfect structured data (the hidden label that lists your facts), Google only <i>may</i> show <b>rich results</b> like stars or prices. The code makes you eligible — it doesn't force the feature on. Beginners add it, see nothing, and assume they failed.
Think of a passport. Having one lets you board the plane; it doesn't book you a seat. The airline still decides.
So set the right expectation:
1. Add valid structured data and confirm it passes the Rich Results Test
2. Wait — Google needs to re-crawl and trust the page, which takes days or weeks
3. Keep the page genuinely good; weak or spammy pages get the extras held back
Eligible is a door opening, not a guarantee you walk through today.
Try this: for a page where stars aren't showing yet, confirm the test passes — then give it two weeks before worrying. 🎓
