Market analysis without data is just guessing—here's what actually matters
Most arbitrageurs skip market analysis altogether. They see a vertical niche, assume demand exists, and start spending. Then they're shocked when LTV doesn't match projections.
Real market analysis isn't about finding perfect data. It's about three things:
• Search volume patterns. Check search trends for your core keyword. Not absolute numbers—those change. Look for seasonality, consistency, and whether interest is growing or dying. If searches drop 70% in Q4, your margins will follow.
• Competitor density vs conversion gap. High competition doesn't kill a vertical. But if everyone's already optimized to death and you're new, your CAC will be brutal. Better play: find niches with moderate competition but obvious conversion problems—that's where your edge lives.
• Unit economics don't lie. Before you commit budget, reverse-engineer what works. If your niche sells a $50 product with 3% conversion on cold traffic, your CAC needs to stay under $1.50. If it can't, you're dead before launch. Run 200-300 clicks first. Track everything. Make a decision based on real numbers, not hopes.
The mistake isn't running too early—it's running blind. Spend three days on analysis. It saves three months of wasted spend.
