Weak positioning kills campaigns faster than bad creatives
Your offer sits between 50 competitors. Same niche, similar price, identical promises. Traffic comes in—converts at 2-3%. You blame the creative. You blame the landing page. But the real problem is positioning.
Strong positioning does three things:
• Makes your offer look different from alternatives (not just "better")
• Gives the buyer a clear reason to pick you over others right now
• Sits in their mind for weeks—even after they leave
Most arbitrageurs skip this. They see a product, write "ultimate solution" or "best deal," and launch. That's default positioning—the same one every competitor uses. It has no power.
Real positioning starts with one honest observation: who actually buys this, and what do they care about most? Not what the product does—what problem it solves for *them specifically*. A sleep supplement to a night-shift worker isn't about "deep sleep"—it's about staying sharp during a 12-hour shift. A CRM to a solo founder isn't about automation—it's about not losing leads while wearing five hats.
Once you know this, build everything around it: headline, creative angle, landing page hook. Not features. Not benefits. The specific struggle your target person faces.
Test positioning changes before scaling. Run two creatives with identical offers but different angles (family vs. career, speed vs. certainty, loss vs. gain). The one that wins usually wins hard—30-50% better CTR isn't rare. That's not a creative problem. That's positioning working.
Find what makes your buyer sit up and nod. That's your positioning. Everything else follows from there.
