Should I delete every old post that gets no traffic?
Q: I heard you should delete zero-traffic posts to boost the rest. Should I?
A: Short answer: not blindly — deleting is the last option, not the first. Longer answer: "content pruning" got flattened into "delete dead pages," but a page with zero clicks isn't automatically dead weight. Ask why it's flat first: is it never indexed? Targeting a keyword with no demand? Just thin? Often the fix is merging it into a stronger related post (with a redirect), or improving and re-promoting it. Reserve actual deletion for pages that are off-topic, embarrassing, or truly duplicate — and even then, 301 them somewhere relevant. Mass-deleting on traffic alone has tanked plenty of sites that confused "no traffic yet" with "no value."
