My biggest early mistake on a houseplant site: I published my highest-value 'best grow lights' review on day 3. Google parked it on page 6 for nine months because the domain had no trust. Wasted my best asset.

Here's the order I use now, the slow-burn ramp:

— Posts 1-15: dead-easy informational long-tail ('why are my pothos leaves curling'). Zero competition, fast indexing, builds topical signals
— Posts 16-30: mid-tier guides that internally link UP to where money posts will eventually live
— Posts 31-45: comparison and 'vs' content, still no affiliate links yet
— Posts 46-50: NOW the money reviews, dropped into a site Google already reads as a houseplant authority

On the redo, the 'best grow lights' post landed page 2 in six weeks instead of nine months, because 45 supporting posts already pointed at it.

The honest part: posts 1-15 made literally $0 and felt like shouting into a void. Month 5 was when the informational base started feeding the money pages and revenue went $0 to $310.

The takeaway: Front-load trust, not transactions. Your best money post should be published LAST, onto a foundation, not first onto bare dirt.
