Framework: anchor-match vs context-match when picking a replacement
When the dead page's link points at a competitor, you choose which signal to match.
1. Anchor-match: build a replacement whose topic fits the existing anchor text. Faster pitch — the link still reads natural.
2. Context-match: match the surrounding paragraph's intent instead. Use when the anchor is generic ("click here", "this guide").
3. Trigger: exact-match anchor → prioritize anchor-match, higher accept rate.
4. QA gate: read the full sentence around the link. If your page doesn't satisfy that sentence, drop the prospect.
Automation: scrape anchor + surrounding 200 chars during the backlink export.
Definition of done: every prospect labeled anchor-match or context-match with the source sentence saved.
