Nothing worse than landing a link on a site that goes dark next month. Wasted effort, zero juice.

My 3 quick signals a blog is alive:

— Last post under 30 days old (check the archive, not the homepage slider)
— Comments or shares on recent posts, not zero
— A real human name publishing, not "admin"

If the newest post is 8 months old, the editor probably quit. Skip it.

I killed 9 "prospects" off my list this week with this filter alone. Pitch living sites only. Go.
