"Post at 9am EST" is the wrong advice
This week on Reddit marketing, the universal best-time chart gets debunked:
— [Tactic] There is no sitewide best time; r/cscareerquestions peaks on weekday mornings while r/gaming peaks late evening — timing is per-subreddit, sourced to mod traffic stats shared on r/TheoryOfReddit.
— [Tool] Open a sub's top-of-week posts and read their timestamps; that's your real posting window, free and specific to that audience.
— [Case] A marketer on r/SEO A/B-tested identical posts and found the niche's quiet morning beat the "global peak" because there was less competition on the rising queue.
Editor's pick: ignore the generic chart — for niche subs, posting into a less-crowded window often beats the supposed peak hour everyone targets.
