Scaling velocity before you know your own baseline is flying blind

The mistake: you decided "30 links a month is safe" with zero idea what your site's NORMAL organic acquisition rate is. Safe is relative to baseline. A page already earning 5 natural links a month can absorb a 30-link push. A dead page earning zero cannot.

Fix: measure your true organic velocity for 30 days FIRST, then layer built links as a multiple of that — 2-3x, not 50x.

"Safe pace" with no baseline is just a number you made up. Defend yours.
