The moment a vendor lets you programmatically fire links at a target rate, you've automated the one thing that should stay human-judged: relevance timing. APIs don't know your niche just had a news cycle, or that a competitor got hit last week.
Manual placement is slow precisely BECAUSE you're reading context — and context is what separates a defensible link from a flag.
