Myth: "Bricks is always faster than Elementor, period"
Bricks fans treat this as physics. I benchmarked both on identical layouts (same hero, 3-column grid, accordion). Bricks 1.9 shipped ~28% less CSS and cleaner markup, yes. But "always" breaks the second you load it with third-party Bricks add-ons.
Pros of Bricks:
— Leaner default output, semantic-ish HTML
— No render-blocking icon font by default
Cons / the catch:
— A heavy query loop or unoptimized add-on erases the lead instantly
— A well-pruned Elementor (no global widgets, Flexbox containers) closes most of the gap
— Builder choice matters less than how you build
Verdict: Bricks has a head start, not immunity. A sloppy Bricks site loses to a disciplined Elementor one.
Best for: builders who'll actually keep the add-on count low.
