How to target by job title without shrinking too far
New to targeting? Job title targeting shows ads to specific roles. People over-narrow and end up with no audience. Build it right:
— Start with the role, not the seniority ('Marketing Manager')
— Add 5-10 related titles, since people name the same job differently
— Include common variations ('Demand Generation' and 'Demand Gen')
— Watch the audience size meter on the right: aim for 50,000+
— Avoid stacking job title AND seniority AND function (too tight)
Think of titles like nicknames: one person is a 'Head of Growth,' another a 'Growth Lead,' same human.
Why it matters: a too-small audience can't deliver, and LinkedIn quietly slows your campaign.
Next step: list every title your ideal customer might use, then add them all.
