Why would I ever delete subscribers on purpose?
Cleaning out dead addresses is called list hygiene. Over time, emails go stale — people abandon inboxes or never open you again. Keeping them hurts you.
Why it matters: inboxes judge you by how engaged your whole list is. A pile of non-openers drags your reputation down, so even your fans land in spam.
✅ Do this:
— Every few months, find subscribers who haven't opened in 6 months
— Send them one "still want these?" email with a clear yes button
— Remove anyone who doesn't respond
It feels backwards, like throwing out food that looks fine. But a smaller, hungry list always outperforms a big, sleepy one.
Homework: count how many subscribers haven't opened in 6 months.
