We split 110 campaigns by pacing method (n=110, 6-month window).

— Fixed quota (e.g. '10 links/month' regardless of niche): median position 6.4
— Competitor-matched velocity (tool-derived from the live SERP): median 4.1

A fixed quota ignores what the niche actually does — 10/month is reckless in a sleepy niche and glacial in a hot one. Velocity-matching reads the top-10's real link-gain rate and tracks it.
