Take two throwaway domains. Same niche, same content, same link sources. Pour 30 links into one over 7 days, the same 30 into the other over 90 days. Track for three months.
I've done this. Repeatedly. The fast domain didn't die — it ranked SOONER. The slow one mostly arrived at the same place, late.
Every velocity belief in this space is folklore passed mouth-to-mouth because nobody runs the controlled test.
