Cookie Attribution vs Fingerprint Attribution for Forex

Cookie Attribution vs Fingerprint Attribution for Forex

What it is: Two ways to credit a conversion when the FTD lands days after the click. Cookie attribution stores a click ID in the browser. Fingerprint/probabilistic attribution matches the converter by device signals when cookies are gone.

Best for cookies: Short click-to-FTD windows on desktop where the user converts same-session in the same browser.

Pros (cookies)
— Deterministic; exact click-to-conversion match
— Standard, well-supported across trackers
— Clean sub-ID passback

Cons (cookies)
— ITP/Safari and ad-blockers nuke them in days
— Cross-device journeys (push on mobile, deposit on desktop) break

Fingerprint attribution survives cookie loss and stitches cross-device paths, which matters because forex FTDs often lag the click by 1-7 days as the call center works the lead. The cost is probabilistic error: false matches inflate or misassign credit.

Who should skip fingerprint attribution: Buyers with instant same-session conversions on clean traffic. The added error isn't worth it. Cookies suffice.

Verdict: Cookies precise, fingerprints persistent.
