You're optimizing for the feed. Optimize for the thumb instead.
The thumb-test pass:
— Read only the first 2 lines, the part that shows before "more." Does it earn the tap?
— Front-load the spice. If your best line is in the middle, you buried it.
— No line break wasted on a greeting. "Hey guys" is a line you'll never get back.
— Squint at it. If it's a grey wall of text, no thumb stops.
Nobody decides to read your caption. They decide to keep scrolling, and you have one line to stop them.
