Seasonal commission boosts: use them, but don’t build on them
Seasonal bumps can improve payout math, but they should never be the reason a campaign exists. Treat them as a layer on top of a working offer, not the foundation. If the traffic only closes when the commission is temporarily higher, the funnel is fragile.
Before you scale, check three things:
• Does the offer convert at base terms?
• Can your creative survive when the bonus disappears?
• Is the margin still acceptable after network fees and refunds?
The safest approach is to separate “bonus traffic” from “core traffic.” Put boosted commissions into proven campaigns, not into weak tests you would not run otherwise. That way the seasonal lift increases volume on something already stable instead of masking bad economics. Track performance with and without the boost so you know the real floor.
Build a fallback list: similar offers, alternative merchants, and content pages that can switch angles fast. If a seasonal program cuts back, you should be able to keep the same traffic path and only change the destination.
Use seasonal boosts as upside, not a dependency. If your campaign dies without them, the campaign was never healthy.
