Keep a one-page source kit ready
The sources who get quoted most aren't the fastest typists — they're the most prepared. They built a small kit once and reuse it.
A "source kit" is a single page holding everything a reporter might need about you.
Think of it like a go-bag by the door. When the moment comes, you grab it instead of packing from scratch.
Here's what to put in it:
— 1. Two or three credibility lines for different topics.
— 2. Three short, quotable opinions you genuinely hold.
— 3. Your website, role, and one sentence on what you do.
Now every pitch is mostly paste-and-tailor. You spend your minutes shaping the answer, not rebuilding your introduction each time.
Try this today: open a blank note titled "Source Kit" and fill in just your credibility lines to start.
