Ch. 20: The Monthly Review Routine That Caught a $300 Leak
For a year I checked revenue and nothing else. Then a slow leak cost me $300/mo before I noticed. Now I run the same 45-minute monthly review.
— Log revenue by source — Amazon, second program, ads — to spot which is moving
— Pull GSC top-10 pages by clicks, compare to last month, flag anything down 15%+
— Check affiliate dashboard for any product that went out of stock or dropped commission
— Spot-check my 5 top money pages for dead links and discontinued products
— Pick ONE next action — usually a refresh — and schedule it, not "someday"
This is how I caught a top page where Amazon had quietly cut the category commission. Switched programs, recovered the $300.
Lesson banked: a site doesn't fail in one crash, it bleeds in small leaks. The monthly review is the tourniquet.
