These platforms charge you to "manage link velocity" — and the entire value is a Gantt chart with extra anxiety. A Google Sheet with a date column does the same planning for free, AND you actually understand it.
Worse, the SaaS bakes in someone's unproven "safe pace" assumptions and hides the logic. You're outsourcing judgment to a vendor whose incentive is your monthly recurring payment.
The expensive tool's real product isn't velocity control. It's making you feel responsible.
