Table snippets reward the header row nobody writes

Spotted this morning — comparison and pricing queries increasingly return table snippets, and the winners almost all have a proper <thead> with labeled columns. Sites using bare <tr> rows with no header get parsed as ambiguous and lose to a cleaner-marked-up rival, even when their data is better.

Who's winning: a couple of SaaS comparison sites that switched from CSS-grid 'tables' (divs) to actual semantic HTML tables and grabbed pricing-query boxes within two weeks.

Why it matters: if you fake tables with flexbox for styling, Google can't read them as tabular. Real markup, real header row, you own the box. Watching this.
