Seasonal commission boosts are useful only if your funnel survives without them
Seasonal bumps can make weak offers look healthy. The trap is building a plan around the boost instead of the base payout. If your traffic only works when the network adds a temporary bonus, your margins are fragile.
Use boosts as a layer, not a crutch:
— keep a baseline offer that still converts at normal commission
— separate seasonal traffic from evergreen traffic in reporting
— test whether the extra payout changes EPC or just hides poor targeting
— set a rule for when you switch links back if the bump ends 🎯
The best way to use a bonus is to pre-build a replacement path. Have a second offer, a backup landing page, or a different angle ready before you scale. That way, if the lift disappears, you move fast instead of rebuilding from zero.
A seasonal boost should make you reallocate traffic, not rewrite your whole setup. If the campaign only works with the bonus, treat it as temporary inventory and keep your real asset in the offer stack, the audience, and the page.
