2. A few quotes — gives the reporter options to choose from. Best when the question is broad ("tips for beginners") and you're not sure which angle they'll run.

Think of it like a gift. Sometimes one perfect present beats a basket of small ones. But if you don't know their taste, a small basket lets them pick.

The warning: more than three quotes turns helpful into homework. Keep the menu short, and label them so the reporter can copy one cleanly.
