— Before migrating mail, send a test from a trial account to mail-tester.com. Under 8/10 = trouble.
— Check if they support SPF, DKIM, and DMARC or fight you on DNS access.
— Run the sending IP through Spamhaus. Shared mail IPs are filthy.
— Ask their outbound limit per hour. Cheap hosts throttle to 50/hr to dodge spam complaints.

Follow the money: "unlimited email" costs them deliverability, so they ration it quietly.
